“A Strong Advocate of Women Leaders”

Kristen Twining, Vice President of Business Development Inside Sales, FireMon, has been instrumental in bringing energy, culture, and success to the Inside Sales team at FireMon. Since joining FireMon in September of 2020, Kristen has been a change agent who has helped to build a successful team of business development and sales reps. Through process, structure, and enablement, Kristen has driven accountability and skill development within her team , in which has yielded positive results and a winning culture. Her energy, passion, and excitement inspire not only her direct team but her peers and coworkers alike. She is creative, fun, and engaging and holds her team accountable, and is results-oriented. She believes strongly in helping her team understand the why behind their goals, metrics, and expectations to directly correlate how they, in turn, can make a positive impact on the company's overall success. She leads by example, provides continuous on-the-spot coaching, and prides herself on developing her team to be successful, confident sales professionals.

“Kristen believes in the power of mentorship and has had many incredible mentors throughout her career. Her Mother, Dan, Tony, and Brian to name a few, have been instrumental in helping to shape Kristen into the successful professional she is today. She has learned hard and tough, yet valuable lessons from each. Most importantly, all of them believed in her and saw her potential which led to her ability to challenge herself, believe in who she could become, and constantly strive for more.”

Kristen was raised by a determined, strong, and high-powered mother who instilled female empowerment and confidence in her early on. An Environmental Health and Safety Engineer and the matriarch of her family, Kristen’s Mom, showed her that females could achieve both personal and professional success if they work hard, dream big, believe in themselves, and never give up. “I believe that us females can have it all if we truly take the time to reflect on what’s important in life and empower ourselves to find balance. In today’s society, there is a lot of pressure put on women to manage work, life, our well-being, family, and everything in between, making it at times seem overwhelming and impossible.”

Being vocal is one of Kristen’s strong suit. “Often times we as women are quiet and don’t ask for what we want, or what is needed to achieve our success and our goals from our bosses, our coworkers, or our companies,” she says. “We are fearful that if we ask, we will be viewed as weak. If we don’t ask, we won’t receive, and I learned that the hard way. Most of the time those around us are simply unconsciously blind to what is needed to create a productive, well balanced, female employee, and it is up to us to be vocal and stand up for ourselves and our needs.” Kristen is truly passionate about helping other women realize they too can have it all with the right mindset, a sense of humor, a strong network of supportive, like-minded females, and she leads the company with the same principles.

FireMon solves several fundamental and critical issues for customers, mostly large enterprises with very complex networks. Their products help clients secure their networks, ensure compliance with regulatory or corporate standards, and automate processes so that they can respond to change in an agile but secure fashion. “This has been our mission from day one and continues to guide our product and customer success initiatives.”

It’s no secret that today’s IT and Security leaders are grappling with massive digital transformation initiatives to make their businesses more responsive and customer-centric. The needs of this evolving landscape - coupled with an increasing number of security threats, the growing reliance on the cloud, and the rise of the distributed workforce - drive these executives to position themselves to maintain security and enable agility. The need for speed is also a driving factor for organizations to invest in security automation. “60% of companies say they’ll implement security orchestration and automation within 2 years and 97% of organizations have already invested in automated security policies to a degree.”

As per Kristen, it's an exciting time in the market—network security is in the midst of a tectonic shift to more cloud-based technologies and zero trust approaches. “We're adding to our product and services capabilities to help them make this transition while continuing to ensure the highest levels of security and compliance,” she says. “Expect to see some exciting technology announcements in the coming months. We're continuing to invest in all geographies, but expect to significantly grow our presence in both Europe and Asia Pac.” IE
